Prince George, B.C.- The Railway and Forestry Museum in Prince George has a new attraction.A wooden train playground is now ready for fun. Made possible by donations from Carrier Lumber, Dollar Saver Lumber, Rolling Mix Concrete , the Prince George Community Foundation and the dedication of Larry Townsend, the wooden train playground offers pint sized play opportunities.
“It came with 5,000 parts and set of diagrams” says Larry Townsend the volunteer who took on the task of piecing together the train. “It’s all deck materials basically, and it had a few challenges”. Townsend does not have a background in carpentry, so he says the compound mitre work was “the most difficult”.
Complete with wooden track, Townsend says there are still a couple of items to be added to the train “We’re going to put in a couple of seats in the engine, a couple of leavers, and a bell with a string so children can announce the train’s arrival.
It took 3 1/2 year old Wyatt Slugowski no time at all to climb on board, explore the train and then hang off the caboose and yell out “All Aboard!”

Looks nice – I wouldn’t mind playing on that myself.
Do I understand that this is not a one off project but comes as a kit?
