Outdoor Market Season Starts
Prince George, B.C. – The outdoor market season has officially started in Prince George.
Good sized crowds welcomed the opening this morning at the Prince George Farmers’ Market at 6th Avenue, right behind the Keg, and at the Wilson Square Community Market at the foot of the courthouse.
Dozens of vendors are selling their wares at both sites – everything from baked goods to hanging baskets and everything in between.
Jobs Minister Shirley Bond celebrated the opening by handing out cupcakes at Wilson Square.
“It’s great to see a good crowd out here this morning,” said Bond who added farmers’ markets continue to grow in popularity around the province. “We want to encourage people to shop local and this is a really personal way to do it on a Saturday morning in Prince George.”
The outdoor market season runs until October and takes place every Saturday from 8:30am to 2:00pm.
