Tax Deadline Looms
Prince George, B.C. – An unexpected extension of the Federal Tax deadline requires income tax for individuals to be filed by no later than Midnight May 5th.
Normally, the deadline is April 30th, but Canada Revenue Agency extended the deadline because of some information that was provided to some tax payers “On April 24, the CRA issued a communication to some Canadians that referred to an incorrect filing deadline for 2014 income tax and benefit returns of May 5, 2015, rather than April 30, 2015” reads the short note fro CRA.
The CRA has taken full responsibility for the mistake, and at the request of the Minister in charge, the deadline was extended to midnight tomorrow, May 5th. Those who owe money to the government who file before midnight May 5th, will not be called upon to pay any interest or face any penalties.
