Midway and Fancon Take Over Exhibition Grounds

Saturday, May 9, 2015 @ 3:57 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Exhibition Grounds are brimming with activity this weekend, both inside and outside CN Centre and the Kin arenas.

The BC Northern Exhibition has teamed up with local partners to create the Spring Carnival which runs through Sunday.  The carnival joins the May midway out on the exhibition grounds with the first-ever Northern Fancon, which is basically an exposition based on many facets of the entertainment industry.

Fancon is an exhibition of all sorts of things we experience in today’s pop culture, everything from video games to toys to comics, artworks to films to apparel.  Several celebrities, including Star Trek’s Captain James Kirk, William Shatner, and Wayne’s World’s Tia Carrere are being brought in to meet with the public.  You can buy tickets to have your picture taken with them or you can head into Kin 1 where the stars will do live interviews in front of the crowd.

CN Centre will feature an array of authors, filmmakers, sculptors, cartoonists, exhibitions and displays, all sorts of things that fans of pop culture might be interested in.

Northern Fancon runs from 10 am to 9 pm today and 10 to 6 on Sunday..

Outside the May Midway is open from 11:40 each morning until 12:40 at night.
