Evacuation Order Issued for Bobtail Lake Fire
Prince George, B.C. – The Little Bobtail Lake fire 3km south of Norman Lake has prompted an evacuation order from the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN).
The fire has grown from 800 to 2,500 hectares in size since yesterday. The order is in effect for the northern end of Bobtail Lake to the southern end of Naltesby Lake, from the western shore of both lakes to the eastern border of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Electoral Area “F”.
Evacuees are advised to register at the Emergency Social Services in Vanderhoof at the Vanderhoof Arena at 340 Columbia Street East.

26 firefighters, two helicopters, five pieces of heavy equipment and air tankers have been deployed. The BC Wildfire Management Branch expect the fire to grow in the next 24 hours due to low relative humidities and warmer temperatures.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
