UNBC Reaches Tentative Deal With Non-Faculty Staff
Prince George, B.C. – A tentative deal has been struck between UNBC and CUPE Local 3799.
The five year deal, negotiated under the Economic Stability Mandate, covers about 380 non-faculty staff, including inside and outside workers and English Language Studies instructors.
Roughly three-quarters of all unionized public-sector employees in B.C. are now covered by tentative or ratified agreements under the Economic Stability Mandate – which offers employees an opportunity to participate in the province’s economic growth through the Economic Stability Dividend.
Under this mandate, employees would receive a conditional, incremental wage increase equal to half of any percentage-point gain in real GDP growth above the Economic Forecast Council’s forecast published in the February budget.
