Mounties Seize Guns & Drugs
Prince George, B.C. – A successful few days for the Prince George RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team.
It all started May 7, when they executed a search warrant at a residence on Northwood Pulpmill Road.
The shakedown yield a loaded stolen 40 calibre handgun and 16 firearms (including two stolen shotguns) along with a significant amount of heroin, crack, and meth.
The bust led to the arrest of 34 old Prince George resident Damian Andrew Dwyer who now faces a string of gun and drug related charges.
Dwyer’s next court appearance is scheduled for today.
On Saturday, the Crime Reduction Team executed another search warrant at a motel on the 1500 block of Victoria Street and found large amounts of cocaine, heroin, meth and pot.
A 47 year old man was arrested and is facing a drug related charges. His name has not been released.
Police say the arrests were made in partnership with tips from the public.
“These search warrants were supported by information provided to the police by concerned citizens who are also committed to ridding their community of these problems,” says Corporal Craig Douglass.
“It is through these types of collaborative partnerships that public safety is effectively increased and the harm from drug activity is reduced.”
