Holland Acclaimed as DPAC Chair
Prince George, B.C. – Sarah Holland was acclaimed as Chairperson of the Prince George District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) at its Annual General Meeting last night at the Van Bien Training Centre.
Holland, who is getting set to serve her fourth and final year at the helm (the job has a term limit of four years), admits budget challenges remain a concern for parents pointing out “there’s not a lot left to cut.”
One thing she doesn’t see in the near future are school closures noting “they can’t close a school for September, it would require consultation.”
Does she see her acclamation as a major vote of confidence?
“It’s either a vote of confidence or a vote of this woman goes to too many meetings. I’m not entirely sure.
The other major change coming out of last night’s AGM was that after several years on the job, Treasurer Chris Finke is stepping down the end of this school year to be replaced by Gillian Burnett.
