Opening Day for Huble Homestead
Prince George, B.C. – Those looking for some old-fashioned fun this long weekend should head to Huble Homestead Historic Site for its 2015 grand opening today.
Operations manager Krystal Leason says her staff has been busy the past week and a half performing maintenance work and preparing for the big day.
“We’re really excited to get going again,” says Leason. “It’s going to be nice to have visitors back on site and to get back into the regular swing of things.”
Huble’s first big event of the year will be their annual “Spring on the Homestead” tomorrow and Monday which she says includes old-fashioned games and heritage demonstrations.
She notes this weekend will also see the launch of Huble’s third children’s book entitled “Mr. Seebach and the New Store,” the third title in their Huble Homestead children’s book series.
Leason says new additions on site will include a new implement shed, a barbecue area along with a picnic shelter.
She expects around 300 visitors on site each day. For a full listing of events at Huble Homestead this year click here.
