Little Bobtail Lake Fire Closing in on Norman Lake

Prince George, The Little Bobtail Lake fire was just 500 metres from the southern short of Norman Lake this evening.While there are already 170 fire fighters battling the blaze with the help of 8 helicopters, 4 air tankers and numerous pieces of heavy equipment, more reinforcements will be arriving on scene tomorrow.
Premier Christy Clark intends to take an aerial tour of the fire area tomorrow and then get the latest information from the command centre on the efforts to battle this interface fire.
At this time, no structures have been lost to the flames, but evacuation orders and alerts remain in effect.

Nothing in the weather report to indicate a change in weather., Prediction is for hot weather for at least the next 14 days.
I hope that the people working to save our forests can be kept safe in the face of the fire and that those headed out for the long weekend do their part to keep the forests safe.
The above photo doesn’t do the fire justice. The view of this plume from out around the Bednesti area this evening was unbelievable. The goosebumps were huge!
I saw photos posted on social media, showing the fire right down to the shore of Norman lake.
