Cause of Third Avenue Fire “Undetermined”
Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue were unable to determine the cause of the fire on 3rd Avenue earlier this month.
The May 6 blaze destroyed two buildings, the business known as Homework, and the building that was being renovated for a new restaurant next to Nancy O’s.
“Unfortunately due to severe damage I was unable to determine a cause or a point of origin,” says Chief Fire Prevention Officer Marcel Profeit. “So right now the fire has been ruled undetermined by us.”
He says it’s unfortunate but notes “we do investigations in a general way,” adding “without the resources to bring in equipment and send samples away and that kind of thing it is definitely the outcome in some fires.”
Profeit notes however “the RCMP did their preliminary investigation after the fire happened and they did not think it was suspicious.”

Financial combustion !!!
I read a book by Cecil Kirby years ago ( bomber and fire guy for Toronto Mafia)- he spoke of doing fire jobs using an accelerant that he purchased from a paint store which burned so hot and so fast that the fire inspectors could not determine where, when or how it started
they can’t find the location or cause of a fire in this small of an area but are claiming they know exactly where and how the Little Bobtail forest fire started… I find both claims very hard to believe.
Were they using the same investigators as Lakeland?
Actually you be surprised how some forest fires are seen to start at an origin then spread downwind or up hill from there. The origin looking like the point of an arrow.
That is refreshing, the rule of thumb seems to be, ifyou can not confirm a cause just call it an electrical fire
Hasn’t every “suspicious” downtown fire in the past 10 years been ruled as “undetermined cause”?
