Prince George, BC- The Nechako River is flowing high and fast along the banks of Cottonwood Island park in Prince George. One of the dangers associated with that kind of flow is the undermining of the bank by the water.250News photographer, Stan Kuzma was in the park when yet another tree lost its footing to the fast flowing water.
The old question is “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?” Stan can’t answer that, but says there was a horrible noise as first the roots were ripped from what ground was left, and a mighty roar when the tree hit the water.
He had his camera ready, and caught the action as the tree succumbed to the powers of nature:
Going……..
Going……….
Gone……

Cottonwood Island? Shouldn’t that be Island Cache? Is someone attempting to rewrite history?
Great serendipitous pictures.
As far as the sound thing goes, the definition of sound should answer the question. Sound is vibrations that travel through the air or another medium. In other words, pressure waves.
If they reach a person’s or animal’s ear, sound is heard.
Really??? Never woulda known……….
I lived in the ISLAND CACHE, not Cottonwood Island? Hey GoPG, how bout the definition of “Island”….
