Williams Lake, B.C. – There  is good news on the Pelican Lake fire that has been burning 80 kms northwest of Quesnel,  the fire is now 100% contained.The lightning sparked blaze has  covered 164 hectares  and  fire crews  are now in patrol mode, to ensure it doesn’t flare up again.

There are still 16 firefighters on scene, 1 helicopter and one piece of heavy equipment, but the incident Management team and two unit crews were released from the  fire  on Sunday.  Another 25 local contract firefighters have been brought on scene to help in the patrol duties for the next few days.
