Prince George, B.C.- Highway 97 north remains closed to all traffic at Wright Creek , about 27kms north of Prince George,  and will remain closed  until at least 3 p.m.

The highway was closed to all traffic at 11 this morning to allow crews to  make some maintenance repairs to the  crossing of Wright Creek.   Initially it was  predicted the highway would reopen at 2  but DriveBC says  that has  now been  extended to 3 pm.

There is no detour.

Sweeping the road with brooms should open soon maybe

You ever notice it is the greyed haired guying doing the work and the rest are watching him.

Not sure if it will be open three by the look of things. Most likely one lane if opened.

The ones watching are experts!

I count at least four experts in clean clothes.

Updated now as closed until 4PM…

One lane could be opened if the job was stopped for awhile but that may run into overtime and can’t have that.

Drive BC now says 4pm

Just starting to fill the hole then it will have to be tamped.

Hey, maybe try again tomorrow folks, these rock solid professionals are really giving it their best. It’s just a highway, it’s not like it’s important.

Really, tell that to the logging trucks. School buses those trying to get to and from work well I hope you get the idea.

only one packer on site, 7 watching

One lane open in minutes

Double pullout now… Maybe next time they do it at night on their other dime?

At night? That means lights, generators, electrical trades, and likely more. LOL

So line 1000 trucks out to summit lake instead all on double time asmall some have waited 7 hours to get through.
