Friday, May 29, 2015 @ 3:50 AM

Prince George, B.C.- The big rigs, and new gear for the resource industry are all on display at the CN Centre today and tomorrow as the Canada North Resources Expo gets underway.

It isn’t all about equipment though, as this year the BC Forest Safety Council is sponsoring the Northern B.C. Safety Conference as part of the Expo. The conference has a theme of “Driving Safety Home”  which will offer some information and tools to help manage safety challenges at work including presentations on distractions in the workplace and effective supervision of new and young workers.

Today only, the RCMP will have a roll-over display, and there will be a Pre-Trip trucking competition.

Moira Pellerine, Marketing Manager for the show says there will be more than 200 exhibitors at the two day event.

The stars of Swamp Loggers, Bobby and Lori Goodson will be on hand to offer some advice “They have logged in some difficult terrain, “It’s a great fit as Prince George is a forestry community” says Pellerine.

Wellness and health also play a role in this weekend event with information on a number of health and safety related topics such as road safety at work, workplace impairment, distracted driving, physical and mental health.

“We’re expecting a lot of great exhibitors” says Pellerine who adds there will be live demonstrations of the big iron.

The show is expected to fill CN Centre with four acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits.
