Prince George, B.C.- A fire in a residence on Westmount Crescent   this morning was knocked down in just over an hour.

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to the call around 11 this morning and arrived at a home in the 6700 block of Westmount.

Smoke was visible, and firefighters quickly determined the source to be in the kitchen on the second floor.

Although two residents were home at the time, both escaped unharmed.

The flames were quickly extinguished.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a pan of hot oil on the stove. The oil ignited and spread to the kitchen cabinets.

Damage is estimated to be about $15 thousand dollars.
