Looks like two more write-offs that we will have to bear the costs of in insurance rates.
I just hope there are some significant charges applied.
No news about the one at Hwy 16 and Cowart, another one there at around same time as this one!
Give more you are an ****. …what about the injuries these poor people have. ..get a life..
Edited for language
Keep right except to pass.
Cheers
Yes its really not nice that people get injured due to someone’s distracted driving or being in too much of a hurry for anyone’s benefit. I feel badly for the person who was hit but not really for the person who hit them.
Damn icy roads…..YRB’s fault…..damn city’s fault !
Damn Cell phone service providers fault!!
Hope the person in the hospitals ok.
Give More I share your frustration We all pay. Now here’s the kicker It doesn’t matter what the accident rate is. If people behave and ICBC makes money the government scoops it as a dividend If people don’t behave they raise taxes or premiums to make up for the cash ICBC doesn’t kick in There is no monetary reward to the driving public for driving safely. The only reward is a life not spent in a wheelchair.
ski51: You’re probably right there. But look, we have WBC or worksafe as they now call themselves, we have the safety authority, we have CVSE we have all kinds of environmental watchdogs and regulations coming out our ying yangs but not that much when it comes down to really regulating licensing and enforcing driving, which kills or maims more people than any other activity. Yes ICBC will raise the insurance rates for bad driving but only for infractions caught or at fault accidents. Then its a bit of a penalty but not one for the wealthy.
We can’t blame the police because they are doing their best, the trouble is not enough of them are given traffic duty. That’s a political decision.
If you’re going to get a driver’s license then it should be drilled into people that there’s a heavy responsibility attached to that. It doesn’t seem to be that way at all.
I am quite sure ‘dividend’ is just another name for tax.
One would think that traffic light controlled intersections are the safest place to be on the roads, but unfortunately the opposite appears to be true. 97-Austin Road, 16-Cowart Road and so forth are far too often scenes of death, injuries and wreckage strewn all over. Turning left is unsafe or very risky when people depend on other drivers to be 100% alert all the time. Often it boils down to a split second whether two physical objects try to occupy the same physical space simultaneously or not. What’s the rush?
I was out and about this past weekend and I saw several situations where a vehicle sped through an intersection, leaving a vehicle turning left in the middle while my light had turned green. It is no wonder there are so many serious intersection accidents. This is very common at Hwy 16 and Ferry (Hwy 16 traffic)
