Royal LePage Shelter Fundraiser On Today

Saturday, June 6, 2015 @ 4:01 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The parking lot behind Royal LePage on 4th Avenue is expected to be busy today as the local office takes part in the company’s National Garage Sale for Shelter.

This is the 7th annual event dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and ending violence against women and children.  The Prince George co-ordinator, Kim Ratzlaff, says “it’s our big national garage sale that we hold every year and we do a barbecue, face painting, helium balloons for the kids, and 100% of the proceeds go to the women’s shelter here in town.”  Administrative costs are covered by Royal LePage, allowing all of the money raised to go to the cause.

Now the national Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Garage Sale took place at more than eighty company offices across the country  on May 9th.  Ratzlaff explains “the one that is usually in May was the same weekend of both Mother’s Day and the Cancer Relay.  We have realtors in our office that always like to join in the cancer relay so we weren’t able to get enough people to help out with the garage sale.  It’s such a busy weekend.”

Ratzlaff has been busy collecting items donated from throughout the community in the run-up to the sale, which begins at 8 this morning and goes until 1 p.m. in the parking lot behind 1625 4th Avenue.
