Prince George, B.C. – The early birds may have acquired the good stuff at the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Garage Sale on Saturday but then again, they say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
In any event the turnout in the parking lot behind the company’s 4th Avenue office was very vigorous, to say the least. As noted by co-ordinator Kim Ratzlaff, “people were here at 7:30 this morning and they’ve been arriving steadily ever since. The garage sale of donated items ran from 8 am to 1pm.
It’s part of a national effort by Royal LePage to support women’s shelters and end domestic violence. All money raised in the communities participating remains in those communities and 100% of it goes to funding women’s shelters and education programs.
None of the items for sale is priced. As Ratzlaff pointed out repeatedly to purchasers asking how much they owed, “everything is by donation, so whatever you want to pay is just fine.”
The local fundraising total is expected shortly.
