Prince George, B.C.- Expect some slow downs on Highway16 west about 27 kms west of Prince George.
The Ministry of Transportation is building a new passing lane at Telachick Road East.
The project is valued at $2.8 million dollars and is being done by IDL of Prince George.
The work is expected to be completed in late September.

Kind of a ridiculous place to put a passing lane in. A flat straight stretch that doesn’t slow trucks down. I would suggest a continuation of the east bound passing lane at the top of the Mud all the way to the Beaverly PetroCan would be a much wiser place to spend our money.
Dumbfounded, the new passing lane will be about 2.4/2.7 kms heading west from Telechick Rd. If you remember this section of Hwy 16 W, it is a long, gradual, uphill, straight stretch. Lot’s of drivers are reluctant to pass because they perceive they don’t have enough time or space especially if they’re passing a Chip truck or Transport truck. I for one say this is a good place for a passing lane. Of course, I heartily agree with your suggestion to stretch the existing passing lane from the top of the Mud River hill to Beverly.
Hmmm… I wonder how much money IDL has donated to the BC Liberal campaign fund?
