Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Farmers’ Market is celebrating its 20th year of existence today at its 6th Avenue location and, while the weather isn’t the greatest, it’s not dampening the spirits of appropriately-dressed market goers.

The market, which is open all year round from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., features vendors selling everything from baked goods to vegetables, meat products to arts and crafts items.  It has also become a community gathering place, attracting people to downtown Prince George to browse, meet up with friends and spend a leisurely Saturday.

The Market brought folk-rock ensemble Black Spruce Bog and local DJs on board for the 20th anniversary celebration, along with an open air flea market, kids games, a barbecue and some special activities for dads to mark Father’s Day.

The REAL Farmers Market is by the Courthouse. This is the wanna be version. That of course, is just one man’s opinion

This whole thing between the two farmers markets is the stupidest thing ever. Honestly, no one cares. Combine and move on. From when I went down the other weekend, the market by the courthouse was absolutely dead and there was no point in being there. The one by the Keg on the other hand, was busy and had tons of vendors.
