Fire Training at YXS

Tuesday, June 23, 2015 @ 9:30 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Don’t be alarmed if you see smoke coming from YXS.

This as the airport will be conducting routine fire training over the next two weeks.

“These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certifications,” says airport spokesperson Lindsay Cotter.

The training starts today from 11 am to 1 pm and will be postponed if there is a lightning storm in the area.

Stop making our already pathetic airshed worse, with your silly training.

Leroy,

You cannot be serious; I am flabbergasted by your remark to say the least. “Silly training” Just go ahead and think about how ridiculous that sounds. This live fire training is absolutely PARAMOUNT for emergency responders. Would you honestly feel safe sending any of your friends or loved ones on a plane protected by an emergency response crew that decided not to train because of air quality issues? Give your head a shake, but you better hope that you don’t hurt yourself in the process, just in case YOUR emergency responders weren’t able to train with real world scenarios…
