Williams Lake, B.C. – The 89th annual Williams Lake Stampede is in full swing.
The stampede, which started yesterday and runs through Monday, has attracted cowboys from as far away as New Zealand.
Mayor Walt Cobb says it also provides a big boost to the local economy.
“It’s a huge economic benefit. I’d say in the millions when you look at our hotels and restaurants being full. This is what made Williams Lake.”
He concedes some locals leave town because of the crowds, but notes “it helps pull our community together.”
Comments
Havent been to the Williams Lake Stampede since the seventies. Its a little to wild and wooley for me.
If you like this kind of animal cruelty . Then you’d love the Chinese dog meat festival .
Reading you 2 is bad enough , commenting would be a waste of oxygen.
