Body of Missing Man Recovered
Quesnel, B.C. – The body of the registered owner of a vehicle that went into the Quesnel River a little over a week ago, has been discovered in the Hope/Agassiz area.
The B.C. Coroner’s service says the body of 49 year old Heath Onstine was discovered Monday in Johnson Slough along the Fraser River.
Onstine had been visiting Quesnel from Ft. St. John, when in the early hours of June 14th, his vehicle went into the Quesnel River .
Police did discover a license plate belonging to the vehicle registered to Mr. Onstine, and all attempts to locate him turned up negative. Police were not able to conduct an underwater search to confirm the suspected incident because the river was running too high and too fast to allow for a safe search operation.
