Year to Date Building Permits Show Growth
Prince George, B.C.- May was another positive month for the value of building permits in Prince George, thanks in large part to the expansion of Magnolia Gardens condos on Ingledew Street.
That project alone is valued at 8 million dollars. Add to that, the cargo warehouse project at the Prince George Airport , valued at just over $4 million, and the two projects helped push the monthly building permit values to $15,612, 997.
That amount is pretty much on par with the same month a year ago, when the values came in at $15,442,884.
While there was little change in the number of permits (45 last month compared to 47 in May 2014) it is the year to date numbers that show the largest change.
As of the end of May this year there were 179 permits issued valued at $45.1 million. During the same time period last year, there were 139 permits valued at $39.2 million, and during the same period in 2013, there had been 162 permits issued valued at $40.5 million.
