Valemount, B.C.- The community of Valemount has received  federal and Provincial funding to replace its Fifth Avenue Lift Station.

The Federal and Provincial governments have each  contributed  $235 thousand dollars to the project.  The Village of Valemount will pick up the balance of the overall project cost of $705 thousand dollars.

The lift station replacement will  ensure the community will be adequately served  by a wastewater collection  system. The work will include  the installation of a lnew lift station which has increased capacity  and a standby generator.  The project also includes upgrades to the electrical  kiosk  and  some real time monitoring systems.

The   funding from the senior levels of government  is from the Small Communities Fund which  makes  dollars available for priority public infrastructure projects.
