Tuesday, July 7, 2015 @ 3:46 AM

Prince George, B.C. – All the fire activity across B.C. has led to a word of caution from the provincial government.

This as 184 fires continue to rage across the province (including 30 in the Prince George Fire Centre) with 9 evacuation alerts and orders currently in effect, impacting over 800 homes.firedngrrating

With the hot and dry conditions, and with the fire danger rating at ‘extreme’ in many areas, the BC Wildfire Management Branch is urging everyone to be responsible and abide by all fire bans until conditions change.

Failure to abide by the Wildfire Act, including open burning restrictions, can result in a $345 fine.

Penalties are worse for anyone who causes damage to Crown forest or grass through arson or recklessness with fines reaching as high as $1 million or three years in prison.

If you see a wildfire you are asked to call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on your cell phone.
