Dawson Creek, B.C. – A string of overdoses have forced Mounties in Dawson Creek to go public with their concerns.
They are reporting three drug overdoses in the past four days and five in the past two weeks.
Police say use of the drug oxycodone, or “hillbilly heroin” is on the rise because of it’s potency and similarity to heroin.
However police say many wanting to take oxycodone are in fact ingesting Fentanyl, an extremely powerful and much more dangerous drug.
Mounties say the Fentanyl can have “life threatening effects.”
