Pride Parade Hits Downtown Prince George
Prince George, B.C. – Thousands lined the streets of downtown Prince George this morning for the 18th annual Gay Pride Parade.
It included the participation of police, fire rescue, unions, businesses, and Prince George City Council.
Pride president Valentine Crawford said he was “ecstatic” with the turnout noting Pride “touches everyone.”
That sentiment was echoed by drag queen Ivana ‘ B Alone in a speech on the steps of City Hall.
“Pride started off as a political experience to get our message across and we still have struggles around the world. I’ve been married three years to my husband but there are people that just can’t do that,” he said. “And I don’t want people to forget why we started.”
Today’s Pride Festival continues until 3 pm outside City Hall.

A well attended community event, way to go Prince George!
Stay cool people..it’s another hot one out there.
Going with the theme of inclusiveness . I was glad to see my demographic included even though it was just on a tshirt . I think it’s high time that we had a human species pride day . It’s been only three million years . What a run . We are incredible .
Human species pride day? Isn’t that pretty much everyday that lore dominion of the Earth and all its flora and fauna? Not sure how much pride there is to be had there.
Also, modern humans have only been around for about 250,000 years, not 3 million.
What about Lucy ?
Lucy was not human, she is what is considered a pre-human primate, and she was at the early end of that classification.
Calling her a pre-human primate really upset her.
