Quesnel Set for Billy Barker Days
Quesnel, B.C.- The four days of family fun will start today in Quesnel.
The annual Billy Barker Days festival will see everything from a midway to Big Rig Show ‘n Shine, pancake breakfasts and stock cars plus non stop live entertainment. What won’t be happening this year, is the fire works display. Normally held as the wrap up event, the fire bans throughout the region had organizers make the difficult decision to cancel the fireworks display. The dollars that would have been used for this year, will be spread over the next two to make those displays even more spectacular.

Expect plenty of police presence over the four days of the festival.
RCMP in Quesnel are getting some help from the Prince George Integrated Road Safety Unit and the North District and Cariboo-Chilcotin Traffic Units, That means there will be check stips and roving patrols to make sure the roadways are safe for everyone. Police are reminding festival goers that if alcohol is part of the party, make arrangements for a designated driver, or a taxi.
Along with extra patrols from Traffic Units there will also be police officers conducting foot and bike patrols throughout Quesnel.
As most events associated with Billy Barker Days are geared towards families there will be no tolerance for drinking in public.
