Police Shooting Victim Identified

Dawson Creek, B.C. – The man who died as a result of being shot  by police in Dawson Creek last Thursday was a resident of Dawson Creek.The BC Coroners Service has confirmed  the man  was 48 year old James Daniel McIntyre.

McIntyre was shot during an encounter with Dawson Creek RCMP  around 7:20 p.m. in the parking of the Fixx Urban Grill. He was transported immediately
to hospital in Dawson Creek, but succumbed to his injuries  shortly after arrival at the hospital.

The BC Coroners Service and the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) continue to investigate this death.
