Timberwolves Mens Soccer Looking for New Coach
Prince George, B.C.- The search is on for a new coach to lead the Timberwolves Men’s soccer team, current coach, Alan Alderson has announced he is moving on to “a new opportunity.”
Just what that opportunity is, Alderson is not at liberty to say at the moment, saying only that it is “too good to pass up.”
“The difficult part about this is I’ve been so excited about the progress of our program at UNBC,” says Alderson. “We set a fantastic foundation, and developed a talented group of young men who are great students and athletes. The upcoming season looks very promising for the team.”
Alderson joined UNBC Athletics as its first full-time head coach in June, 2012.
Loralyn Murdoch, UNBC’s Director of Athletics and Recreation says Alderson will be missed “His work in the community both on and off the pitch has been fantastic. We will be sorry to see him go, but wish him the best in his new endeavour.”
UNBC is currently looking for candidates to fill the coaching position in time for the beginning of the 2015 soccer season which is not too far off. The season opens in Victoria September 11th and 12th with back to back games. The home opener will be September 26th when they host the University of Fraser Valley Cascades.
