Harper said he wouldn’t appoint any senators… So he did his usual and appointed 59 so far.

Your comment is out of context. Harper appointed the 59 senators and has been trying to effect some Senate changes but was shot down. His statement about not appointing any more Senators was made after the Supreme Court said you have to have all provinces agree to any change or abolishment of the Senate. The Provinces have shown no inclination to change so Harper says no more Senate appointments till they do.

The constitution requires that senator vacancies be filled in a timely fashion – the provinces are entitled to proper representation! However, the constitution lately doesn’t seem to be as importaant as it used to be.

With a federal election looming, two pressing questions involving the role of money in Canadian politics are attracting surprisingly little media attention.
The first: who owns Stephen Harper?
This isn’t a philosophical enquiry. It’s a straightforward question about the identity of the secret donors who paid the bill for Harper’s rise to power, first as leader of the Canadian Alliance and then the Conservative party.
Donors contributed more than $2 million to the prime minister’s two leadership bids, but the identities of some of the major donors have never been publicly disclosed, according to Ottawa-based corporate responsibility advocacy group Democracy Watch.

Check the qualifications of the writers since it seems qualifications is important to you. Please read I would like to see a rebuttal and not the usual blow off.
Public perception.
The perception of the public has been heavily influenced by the media and by the large number of “solar companies” selling home solar systems to augment grid level power: largely subsidized by government subsidies to both the solar companies and end users through tax credits and high “feed in tariffs”.
The public is largely disinterested in science and hence lacks the knowledge to properly evaluate solar’s place, but has nonetheless embraced a false solution that has a negative cash flow solution funded by their tax dollars. That level of enthusiasm poured over when a “Solar Road” project was launched on one of the “crowd source funding sites which raised over $2 million dollars for the project’s sponsors.

Ataloss, “Solar ,wind is already at grid parody in most of the world . ” Was that a typo or an amusing pun? You do mean “parity” right? As with all types of energy production there are upsides & downsides. The cleaner the better, so with the advent of much more efficient & cleaner nuclear generators should you not be championing that sector as well? As for oil & gas going the way of the horse & buggy? Eventually, yes but don’t hold your breath.

Stephen Harper is the best Prime Minister that Canada has ever had. The Harper Carpers know this, and that is why that are continuously denigrating him, in the hope of tarnishing his image before the upcoming election. Problem is, those who voted for him in the past will vote for him in the future, so there’s a good chance he will be around for awhile.
Ataloss is a twit. For all his hyperbole he actually says very little, and basically mimics others. His next original thought will be his first.
I would like to see Altaloss get the millions of airplanes off the ground with wind power, or the millions of ships operating around the world running on solar electricity.
Perhaps he knows how to make pavement with electricity and sand.
In any event its obvious that the only thing that he (and some others) can do on a consistent basis in criticize Harper. Seems they have a very small space that they play in.
