Skyfest Thunders Into Quesnel
Prince George, B.C. – Skyfest, the Quesnel International Airshow, is on this weekend in the Gold Pan City under weather conditions that are just about perfect.
This year’s edition got underway Friday evening with a one-hour-45-minute Twilight Show to whet the appetite of residents and the thousands of visitors expected to attend the show at the Quesnel Airport.
The line-up for the show includes the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds, the RCAF CF-18 Demo team, Canadian Armed Forces parachute team the Skyhawks, Bud Granley and his T-6 Harvard, Super Dave Mathieson and his carbon fibre-made Scheyden MX-2, a P-51 Mustang, an aerobatic sailplane, several biplanes, the Flash Fire Jet Truck with driver Chris Darnell and a whole lot more.
Patrons will have the opportunity to have an up close look at the different aircraft and vintage cars on display. There are also children’s games, activities and entertainment on the grounds. And there is also a raffle for a Ford Mustang with just one thousand tickets being sold for 20 bucks a pop. The winner of the car will be announced Sunday.

Gates open at 8 am
Pre-show aerobatics begin at 10 am
Opening ceremonies start at 11:35 am
Show ends each day at 4:15 pm
The Quesnel weather forecast calls for mainly sunny skies and a high of 26 today, sunny with a high of 28 on Sunday.
