Tyner Paving Results in Traffic, Transit Changes
Prince George, B.C. – The $600,000 paving job on Tyner Boulevard between the University Heights sub-division and UNBC gets underway on Tuesday. Tyner will be closed to traffic in both directions between University Heights and the university from Tuesday through Aug 14th. The completion date of the paving project is weather dependent.
Drivers are asked to access UNBC via University Way. For cyclists/pedestrians the Tyner Trail will be open for the duration of the road work.
Bus riders should note that Route 16 will not be running between UNBC and College Heights for the duration of the paving project. To access the University on Prince George transit from College Heights, riders will have to take Route 89 to the Nicholson Exchange and transfer to a Route 15. To go from UNBC to College Heights during the construction riders will need to take a Route 15 to the Nicholson Exchange and transfer to a Route 88.
Prince George Transit advises riders to plan to add half an hour to their trip between UNBC and College Heights during the week and 90 minutes on the weekend.
The Route 16 bus will continue to service Lower College Heights, but will stop near the intersection of McGill Crescent and Domano Boulevard (in front of the McDonald’s) and turn around. It will pick up passengers headed into College Heights near the same intersection on the other side of Domano Boulevard in front of the Starbucks.

Right on. That stretch of road has been pretty crappy for a while now.
Wonder if they will add left and right turn lanes to the subdivisions. Dangerous in the winter with the turns being on a hill. Numerous rear-enders last winter. Wonder who would pay the developer or taxpayer, oh wait I know the answer.
TWO WEEKS ???? What they doing??? Four laning it???
They’re probably not fixing it, more likely just paving over the same base. Welcome the cracks back in a few years and with more industrial traffic, more failures.
