Prince George, B.C. – One person  was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries following a crash at 5th Avenue and  Carney Street this  afternoon.

The crash  caused  the closure of  the intersection while emergency crews  assisted  one  driver from his vehicle.

RCMP are investigating

Good to see it was two small vehicles with no injuries. Small cars scare the hell out of me for this reason. Hope the occupants heal quickly.

That intersection can be tricky, depending on the volume and speed of the traffic flowing through it. I think the greatest hazard there is the lack of proper left turn lanes North-South on Carney. Vehicles travelling straight through the intersection can be shielded by vehicles waiting to turn left onto 5th from the view of those left turners, add in a lack of patience, and Bang!
