Bark in the Park to Support SPCA
Prince George, B.C. – Calling all canines.
A fun dog show called “Bark in the Park” is happening at the Duchess Park dog park today.
Organizers are promising it will be a real howl. “We’re going to have a multitude of classes for your dogs to enter,” says co-organizer Zoe Nunes. “They include the waggiest tail, the furriest coat, and the cutest puppy.”
Nunes, a UNBC MBA student, says the goal of the event is to help raise awareness for the BC SPCA, especially the Prince George chapter.
“We did a couple of interviews with the SPCA and it’s not so much that they need money but they need the various things to help them on a day-to-day basis like blankets and paper towels.”
She says the event is a class project. “We were just trying to think of something we could do for the community while giving back to our school too. So we thought something with dogs and being outside would probably be a really fun event for our community.”
