Prince George, B.C. – One person has died in a single vehicle crash north of Prince George on Highway 97.

North District RCMP Traffic Services  responded to reports of a  tractor trailer unit going off  Highway 97 near Barney Road, about 29 kilometers north of Salmon Valley around 1:15 this afternoon.

When officers arrived,  they discovered the male driver of the rig was deceased at the scene.

A Collision Reconstructionist has been called to the scene as has the BC Coroners Service.

Highway 97  is open to single lane alternating traffic, but  drivers can expect delays until  well into the evening.
