Williams Lake, B.C. – A 55 year old Prince George man is dead following a single vehicle crash this morning near 150 Mile House.

Constable Rick Meaver with the Williams Lake RCMP says it happened at around 4:30am after a semi truck rolled over at the intersection of Highway 97 and Likely Road.

He says it was transporting corrosive chemicals at the time of the collision and notes the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed the highway for several hours while the site was investigated by first responders and a HAZMAT team.

Meaver says the Ministry of Environment also attended the scene and says there is no evidence to suggest any type of hazardous spill.

The victim’s name has not been released.
