Cougars Trim Roster

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars have trimmed their roster down to 35 players ahead of this weekend’s road trip to Kamloops (Fri) and Kelowna (Sat).

11 players were reassigned following Monday night’s Black and White Game at CN Centre. They include goalies Connor Dochuk and Matthew Trulsen.

Defencemen Reid Perepeluk, Ryan Schoettler and Kobe Eagletail. And forwards Michael McCosh, Colin Schmidt, Liam Ryan, Logan Mazerolle, Josh Curtis and Brendan Kochanski.

The 35 remaining players are:

Goalies – Tavin Grant, Patrick Gora, Ty Edmonds, Mack Shields

Defencemen: Jonas Harkins, Peter Kope, Max Martin, Josh Anderson, Joel Lakuksta, Shane Collins, Riley Mohr, Tate Olson, Luka Zorko, Sam Ruopp, Joe Carvalho

Forwards: Tyler Ho, Jackson Leppard, Justin Almeida, Bartek Bison, Kolby Johnson, Kody McDonald, Cal Babych, Jared Bethune, Aaron Boyd, Jesse Gabrielle, Zach Goberis, Jansen Harkins, Haydn Hopkins, Brad Morrison, Brogan O’Brien, Colby McAuley, Tyler Mckonjic, Jordan Ross, Aaron Macklin, Chase Witala

With seven of those players headed to NHL camps later this month (Sam Ruopp, Tate Olson, Jansen Harkins, Chase Witala, Jared Bethune, Jesse Gabrielle, Brad Morrison) and others headed back to midget, Cougars play-by-play man Dan O’Connor expects that number will be closer to 25 players come opening night September 25.

He says all teams must have their rosters down to 25 players by October 10.
