Prince George, B.C.- For the send time in a week, there will be fire training at YXS which could produce a column of smoke visible throughout the community.
The training and certification exercise involves dealing with a simulated aviation incident. That means there will likely be thick black smoke rising from the PG Airport Authority’s fire training area .
During previous fire training exercises, concerned members of the public have spotted the smoke and contacted emergency services, but there is no need for alarm. The simulation is taking place in a controlled environment and it poses no threat to the public.
The exercise today is slated to take place from 11:30 this morning to 1p.m.
