Queen Elizabeth II has now been on the throne for 63 years, seven months and three days, surpassing the reign of Queen Victoria, her great- great grandmother.
She became Queen at the age of 25, following the death of her father, King George VI who passed away in 1952 of cancer.
At noon today, Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall, Councillors the Lheidli T’enneh and others will raise a flag, hear a children’s choir sing, and cut some cake to mark the royal occasion.
