Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Spruce Kings opened their 2015-16 B. C. Hockey League season with a loss to the expansion Wenatchee Wild.

Wenatchee, a team with an American-dominated roster that joined the league this summer, outshot the Spruce Kings 50-18 before 1,084 disappointed fans at the Coliseum.  The Wild clearly dominated the Kings although the teams were tied at 1 after twenty minutes.

However the visitors scored twice in the second period and added another two through a prolonged period of undisciplined Prince George play in the third to handily wrap up the first of 58 games for both clubs this season.

The teams go at it again tonight at 7 at the Coliseum as new head coach Chad Van Diemen attempts to get the Spruce Kings headed in the right direction.
