Draw, Loss Open Timberwolves’ Soccer Seasons
Prince George, B.C. – The UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team kicked off its 2015 Canada West season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw Friday night.
Playing on home turf at the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League field, the Timberwolves took the lead in the 25th minute on a goal from Sydney Hall. And it appeared her sister, keeper Jordan Hall, was well on her way to a clean sheet until Mairi Horth evened the score for the UBC Okanagan Heat in the 88th minute. Head coach Andy Cameron’s T’Wolves will complete the opening weekend of the new season as they host the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack at noon Sunday.
Meantime the Timberwolves men’s side is down on the island for a pair of games against UVIC. UNBC dropped Friday night’s opener 3-0 and will tangle with the Vikes again at 7:15 tonight.
