Prince George, B.C. – Dog owners and animal lovers in Prince George have raised a substantial amount of money in Sunday’s Scotiabank – BC SPCA fundraiser.

There was a very strong turnout for the annual Paws for a Cause 1.8-kilometre  walk at Cottonwood Island Park, both in terms of human participants and dogs of all breeds and sizes.

North Cariboo Branch Assistant Manager Jodi Boivin says with registration fees, donations and money raised through a barbecue taken into account, the final total comes in at just over $25,000.

Animal lovers in more than thirty BC communities take part each year in what has turned out to be the SPCa’s major fundraiser of the year.
