International Student Welcome Party Set
Prince George, B.C.- Students from all over the world who are studying in Prince George are once again invited to a special welcoming event on the front lawn of City Hall.
This will be the 6th time the event has been held to put out the welcome mat for visiting students.
This year the party is set for Friday the 18th of September, from 3-5 pm.
The two hour event offers tours of City Council Chambers, photo ops with the Mayor, cultural entertainment, a ceremonial cake cutting, bus tours of the City, and a bar b q.
The international student population in Prince George is growing every year. “It’s about the contribution they make in a cultural perspective and in an economic perspective” says organizer Anne Harris. In 2012 International students are credited with contributing about $25 million to the region’s gdp.
