Terry Fox Run Sunday
Prince George, B.C. – The 35th annual Terry Fox Run departs Community Foundation Park (7th & Dominion) in Prince George tomorrow at 10am.
Donna White, provincial director of the Terry Fox Foundation, is encouraging everyone to participate in what she calls an “inclusive event.”
“You don’t have to be a runner, I think the word run scares people off a little bit,” she says.
“You can come out and run if you like, you can walk, you can come out with kids in a stroller, on your roller blades, bring the family dog on a leash, it’s really about being open and inclusive.”
She says the first Terry Fox Run in Prince George was back in 1985 and is hoping to build on the success of last year’s event.
“Last year 1,000 people registered, double the previous year, and over $16,000 was raised.”
And because it’s the 35th anniversary of Terry’s historic Marathon of Hope, White is hoping $35 million will be raised across the country, a dollar for every Canadian.
If you’d like to register you can do so starting at 9am Sunday. You can also make a donation by clicking here.
