Canucks Training Camp Draws to a Close
Prince George, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks training camp has drawn to a close in Prince George.
Veterans took to the ice first this morning for power play practice before a intra-squad game wrapped things up early this afternoon at CN Centre.
Canuck defenceman and part Prince George Cougar owner Dan Hamhuis called the three day event a “great” experience.
“I thought we did some good things to get prepared for the season,” he said. “We went through some system stuff and got a good look at some of the prospects.”
He said the camp also helped bring all the players closer together.
“One of the things we do, especially when we go away is some team bonding and Prince George was a great host city to do that for us,” said Hamhuis.
“We got some golfing in, we did some skeet shooting at the range the other day and just getting together with the guys.”
So how big a role did did he have in bringing training camp up North?
“Trevor Linden approached me last year and asked me what I thought, if it would be a good fit and I said of course it would be,” he said.
“This city, whenever they host events they do a first class job in welcoming big groups in. It was exactly what we got this week.”

You guys are most welcome to our City… Come again anytime you need a vacation
I am not a huge Canucks fan, but my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Trevor Linden and he is a first rate class act. Good on the Canucks, and good on PG for having this training camp.
