250 Pollsters Split on Coalition
Prince George, B.C. – When it comes to coalition governments, those who took the 250News ( non scientific) poll are split on the idea.
We asked the question:
If the Federal election produces a minority government, would you favour a coalition ?
Of the 1,2668 votes, 41% (525) said they would favour a coalition if it was the NDP and Liberals. 41% said they did not support coalitions, although there were just a handful of fewer voters on that option (517) it ws not enough to change the percentage.
The Conservatives didn’t fare well in the coalition scenario, with only 13% (167 votes) saying they would support a coalition of the Conservatives and Liberals, and just 5% (59 votes) said they would favour a coalition of the Conservatives and NDP.
This week we want to take your pulse on the impact celebrities have on a campaign.
We have heard former Bay Watch star Pamela Anderson who says she would not vote for Harper, and Wayne Gretzy came out supporting the P.M. in his re-election bid.
So, this week’s question is:
Do celebrity endorsements influence the way you vote?
Yes,
No,
Depends on the celebrity.

I would support the coalition, because it will do two things.
1) Harper will quit the Conservative leadership because he will not be second fiddle.
2) The coalition government won’t last, and then we go back into election, and the conservatives will have a better leader.
my two bits.
The only reason a coalition would c8me into existence is if the Conservatives won a minority. There is no way either the Liberals or NDP would share leadership of the country if either of them won a minority.
If you support a coalition you support a coalition no matter what party is involved. So thus the Liberals could join the Conservatives to form a majority if either wins a minority. They dont have to cross the floor just make a backroom deal. The only time they would have to cross the floor is if they did not win and wanted to form government. All the paties are too pigheaded and thus a coalition is never in the cards, they will try and run as a minority.
The only two parties which could feasibly form a coalition government would be the NDP/Liberals. They share many of the same beliefs, while the conservatives and the other parties have too much of a gap in beliefs. I don’t believe they would be able to negotiate terms to run form a coalition Liberal/Tory govn’t.
Both the NDP and Liberal party would anger their own followers too much to support a conservative coalition.
