Chemical Leak at Cariboo Brewing – Update
Prince George, B.C. – Fire crews are responding to a chemical leak at Cariboo Brewing this hour.
Prince George Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Cliff Warner says they were called to the scene at 12:15.
“And were advised by their operations people that a valve had been damaged and there was some ammonia that leaked,” he says. “They were able to isolate the main portion of their system and the leak was isolated in an enclosed room.”
Additionally, Warner says “our crews arrived to see if they could further isolate the leak and look for ways at ventilating the building.”
He says all employees were evacuated and a witness on scene told 250 News they were all sent home for the day.
There were no injuries. Meanwhile WorkSafeBC have confirmed they have been notified about the incident and say two of their officers have been dispatched to the scene to investigate.

I hope not.. I would expect that Ammonia is being used as a refrigerant at the brewery.

Anyone remember a science fiction movie that was on TV in the 1960s about an industrial plant that turned out to have been taken over by aliens from outer space who breathed ammonia?
But I want to breath in some beer. We just have churches in Abby.
